Why We Must Not be in a Passive State

1 Peter 5:6-11 WEL So, let yourselves be humbled under God's mighty hand, so he may lift you up at the right time. 7 Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be clear headed. Be alert, because your enemy, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he can devour. 9 Resist him, [be] immovable in the faith, realizing that the same kind of afflictions are being faced by your brothers who are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who has called us into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, will mend you, make you resolute, give you strength, and support you. 11 To him [be] glory and supremacy forever and ever. Amen.

A1 Passivity

B1 Defined
C1 My definition of passivity is a person being in a passive state instead of active state. It is the shutting out mental thought and activity. It is termed “by-passing the brain,” “not using your brain,” “quietness,” “stillness,” “silence,” etc.
C2 It is different than a trance.
D1 Bing dictionary: a half-conscious state characterized by an absence of response to external stimuli, typically as induced by hypnosis or entered by a medium.
D2 Wikipedia: Trance is an abnormal state of wakefulness in which a person is not self-aware and is either altogether unresponsive to external stimuli but is nevertheless capable of pursuing and realizing an aim, or is selectively responsive in following the directions of the person who has induced the trance. Compare: Altered States of Consciousness.
C3 Passive mind: Free Dictionary: Receiving or subjected to an action without responding or initiating an action in return: the mind viewed as a passive receptacle for sensory experience.
B2 Passivity (some more)
C1 Defined: Definition of passive (Source)
1a(1): acted upon by an external agency
(2): receptive to outside impressions or influences
C2 In the spiritual sense: Different than finding a quiet place away from noise and distractions, the silence is referring to a stillness of the mind. (Source) [More information can be found in the pdf: The Silence Quotes by LHTrails]
C3 It goes by various names as contemplative prayer, etc. See here and search for passivity, passive, mysticism, etc.
B3 Dangers
C1 Being deceived
C2 Drifting away from true faith
C3 A change in lifestyle from a Christian to a mystical lifestyle
C4 Direct disobedience to the Holy Spirit:
D1 1 Peter 5:8 WEL Be clear headed. Be alert, because your enemy, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he can devour.
D2 Luke 21:36 GW Be alert at all times. Pray so that you have the power to escape everything that is about to happen and to stand in front of the Son of Man.
D3 Romans 13:11-14 GW You know the times in which we are living. It's time for you to wake up. Our salvation is nearer now than when we first became believers. 12 The night is almost over, and the day is near. So we should get rid of the things that belong to the dark and take up the weapons that belong to the light. 13 We should live decently, as people who live in the light of day. Wild parties, drunkenness, sexual immorality, promiscuity, rivalry, and jealousy cannot be part of our lives. 14 Instead, live like the Lord Jesus Christ did, and forget about satisfying the desires of your sinful nature.

A3 4 Conditions of Escape

B1 Not sleeping: 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 NRSV So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober; 7 for those who sleep sleep at night, and those who are drunk get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
B2 Being alert: Matthew 24:42-51 NRSV Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. 45 "Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that wicked slave says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' 49 and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know. 51 He will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
B3 Be clear headed: 1 Peter 5:8-9 WEL Be clear headed. Be alert, because your enemy, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he can devour. 9 Resist him, [be] immovable in the faith, realizing that the same kind of afflictions are being faced by your brothers who are in the world.
B4 God’s armor:
Ephesians 6:12-18 WEL For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the highest spiritual forces, powers, rulers of darkness of the world, and spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to resist on that evil day, and after doing everything possible to still stand. 14 Therefore, stand having truth fastened around your loins and having the breastplate of righteousness on, 15 And your feet shod, prepared by the Gospel of peace. 16 Most importantly taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts from the wicked. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. 18 Always be praying in the spirit with all prayer and requests, and be alert in the same with full perseverance and request for all the saints.
C1 Resist
D1 1 Peter 5:8-9 WEL Be clear headed. Be alert, because your enemy, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he can devour. 9 Resist him, [be] immovable in the faith, realizing that the same kind of afflictions are being faced by your brothers who are in the world.
D2 To resist is to stand for the Christian faith in thoughts, desires, words, and deeds. 1 Corinthians 15:58 WEL Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch, as you know that your labor in the Lord is not futile.
D3 God gives grace. 2 Timothy 2:1 NRSV You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
D4 God gives wisdom. James 1:5 WEL If any of you lack wisdom, then ask the God, who gives to all profusely and doesn't scold, and it will be given to him.
D5 God gives the strength we need. 2 Corinthians 12:9 WEL He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I would rather gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ might rest in me.
D6 God forewarned us this would happen. 2 Timothy 3:12 WEL Indeed, all who choose to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
D7 God promises us that He will not leave us. Hebrews 13:5 WEL Let your conduct be without covetousness. Be satisfied with what you have, because he has said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
C2 Stand
D1 Stand has the idea of not just walking around but to stand in the face of opposition, whether mild or fierce.
D2 1 Corinthians 16:13 WEL Be on the alert; be firmly standing in the faith; don't be cowardly; be strong.
C3 Truth
D1 The Bible understands truth to be according to the correspondence theory, that is, reality. An example: John 4:17-18 WEL The woman answered and says, "I have no husband." 18 Jesus says to her, "You answered honestly that you have no husband, for you have had five husbands, and the present one you have is not your husband, you have told the truth in this.
D2 The importance of truth is God wants us to know, so He tells the truth. Otherwise, we will not know what to believe or how to live.
D3 Safety in truth
E1 John 17:17 WEL Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth.
E2 Truth keeps us from being deceived.
C4 Righteousness
D1 Righteousness is thoughts, desires, words, and deeds according to God’s thoughts, desires, words, and deeds. It is God’s standard. 1 John 2:29 WEL If you know that he is righteous, then know that everyone who is doing righteousness is born of him.
D2 Our Christian life should be a righteous life: 1 Peter 2:24 NRSV He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
D3 We learn this from the NT Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NRSV All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
C5 Gospel
D1 There is only one Gospel from Genesis to Revelation.
D2 We must personally belief God’s Gospel or we will go to eternal conscious torment.
D3 A link to know the Gospel: Are You a Good Person?
C6 Faith
D1 Faith is believing God.
D2 Believing God from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21
D3 Believing God is more important than believing ANY teacher.
C7 Salvation
D1 This is related to the Gospel above.
D2 Ephesians 1:13-14 WEL In whom you also trusted, after you had heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation. In whom, after you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of [God's] purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.
C8 Scripture
D1 We must know it.
D2 To know it we must study it.
D3 In studying it, we must believe it.
D4 If we really believe it, we will live it.
C9 Prayer
D1 Prayer is talking to God.
D2 No one can manipulate God. There are no special words, chants, actions that can guarantee the answer we want.
D3 Answers are according to God’s will. 1 John 5:14 WEL This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
D4 Known, unconfessed sin, continuing in sin, etc. will cause prayers to NOT be answered. Psalms 66:18 GNB If I had ignored my sins, the Lord would not have listened to me.

A4 Other verses

B1 Genesis 3:15 GW I will make you and the woman hostile toward each other. I will make your descendants and her descendant hostile toward each other. He will crush your head, and you will bruise his heel.
B2 2 Corinthians 2:11 11 WEL Fearing that Satan would take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his plans.
B3 Ephesians 4:27 WEL 27 Don't give an opportunity to the devil.
B4 James 4:7-8 WEL 7 Therefore, place yourselves under God’s authority. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse [your] hands, sinners, and purify [your] hearts, double minded.
B5 1 Peter 5:8 WEL Be clear headed. Be alert, because your enemy, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks around seeking whom he can devour.

A5 Days of Praise

October 28, 2018
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)

The magnificent book of Genesis sets the foundation for Scripture, revealing the “Roman numerals” upon which the rest of the Bible’s message is built. Apart from the actual events of the creation week, the fall of Adam and Eve, and the subsequent horrific growth of sin and the awful judgment of the Flood, the gospel message would make little sense.

Paul’s warning showcases the importance of Satan’s strategy to ensnare humanity in the same trap. The Devil’s tactics change with time and culture, but the strategy remains the same.

First, Satan always attempts to make us doubt the Word of God (Genesis 3:1). If we question the accuracy, the meaning, the authenticity, the historicity, or any other shade of “all scripture” (2 Timothy 3:16), then we begin edging onto a slippery slope that will only lead to the next stage.

Second, Satan always confronts the doubter with a denial of the Word of God (Genesis 3:4). When one begins to deny the authority, the capability, or the will of God to carry out His Word, the slide into the final phase is inevitable.

Third, Satan ultimately heaps denigration on the Person of God Himself (Genesis 3:5). Once one embraces the thought that the Word of God is not trustworthy and that God either will not or cannot do what He says, it absolutely follows that God is either a liar, a hypocrite, or a capricious and whimsical ogre.

May God protect us from the “wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). HMM III

Ephesians 4:17-23

A1 Scripture
B1 NKJV: This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, (Ephesians 4:17-23)
B2 WEL: [17] Therefore I speak this and bear witness in the Lord, that from now on you walk not like other Gentiles walk in the emptiness of their mind. [18] Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. [19] Who being callous gave themselves over to lustful pleasure to do every kind of impurity with insatiable desire. [20] But you haven't learned Christ in this way. [21] If you learned Him and been taught by Him, then, as the truth is in Jesus, [22] Get rid of the former lifestyle, the old man, which is rotten from deceitful lusts. [23] Instead be renewed in the spirit of your mind. (Ephesians 4:17-23
B3 GNB: In the Lord's name, then, I warn you: do not continue to live like the heathen, whose thoughts are worthless and whose minds are in the dark. They have no part in the life that God gives, for they are completely ignorant and stubborn. They have lost all feeling of shame; they give themselves over to vice and do all sorts of indecent things without restraint. That was not what you learned about Christ! You certainly heard about him, and as his followers you were taught the truth that is in Jesus. So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—-the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, (Ephesians 4:17-23)

A3 Notes
B1 Definitions
C1 Gentiles: non-Israelites (Jews)
C2 Futility of their mind = the mind is our thinking ability, the place where we think. Futility is emptiness, non-thinking ability, "being stupid," etc. Futility is the idea of having no truth, sense of truth, interest in the truth, so that when truth comes along, it is suppressed ("For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness" (Romans 1:18 NKJV). It takes the Holy Spirit's initiative and action to open our minds and hearts to the truth.
C3 Understanding is darkened = understanding is comprehension, the ability to "catch on" to something. The idea of choices have consequences is not foreseen, and so they (we) make stupid choices that lead to unintended, perhaps consequences that are difficult, life threatening, death, pain in ourselves or others. Darkened because God's ways and thoughts are not present in us. When and if we hear about God and His ways, our unregenerate heart rebels and rejects it unless the Holy Spirit opens our hearts and minds.
C4 Alienated from the life of God = we are under God's curse because of our sin and the sin of the world. We are separated from God and doomed to destruction.
C5 Blindness of heart = What causes all this is humanity's ignorance from a blind heart (a heart that cannot see, understand, know God and His ways), callousness from sinning and suppressing the guilt (justifying ourselves), and addicted to pleasing our various and sundry desires. Sin is very addictive.
C6 The saved Gentiles are different because of Jesus teaching, the Holy Spirit's conviction of our heart, and opening the way to trust into Jesus Christ.
C7 Because we are now new creations, we must live that way. The Bible has the means and rules to do this. The Holy Spirit is our helper, encourager, prodder, rebuker (when needed) to keep going.
B2 Questions and applications
C1 How are you living your life in thoughts, desires, words, and deeds?
C2 Is there a difference in our lives now that we are Christians? Is this something that others can see? Matthew 5:14-16 HCSB You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
C3 Before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit humanity was divided into Jews or Gentiles. Now it is Jews, Gentiles, and Church. The church are all those who believe and trust in Messiah Yeshua for salvation, forgiveness of sins, and restored fellowship with God.
C4 We need reminders from each other and the Scriptures to keep faithful to New Testament doctrine and life. We should be teaching each other, praying for each other, encouraging each other, and reading/studying the Bible each and every day.
C5 A few of the rules that the Lord Jesus has given us in the New Testament: 1 Thessalonians 5:14-26 NRSV And we urge you, beloved, to admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them. 15 See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise the words of prophets, 21 but test everything; hold fast to what is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. 23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this. 25 Beloved, pray for us. 26 Greet all the brothers and sisters with a holy kiss. Ephesians 4:7-16

A1 Scripture
B1 First: Ephesians 4:7-16 WPNT Now to each one of us the grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift was given.  That is why He says, “When He ascended into the heights He captured the concentration camp, and distributed gifts to men.”  (What does ‘He ascended’ imply if not that He also first descended into the interior regions of the earth? He who descended is the very one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)  Yes, He Himself gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints into the work of the ministry, so as to build up the body of Christ,  until we all attain into the unity of the faith and of the real knowledge of the Son of God, into a complete man, into the resulting full stature of Christ; so that we no longer be ‘infants’, tossed about as by waves and carried off by every doctrinal fad, through the underhanded dealings of the people who collect the fee for the error;  rather, speaking the truth in love, let us in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, Christ; from whom the whole body, being fitted and knit together by what every joint supplies, as each individual part does its work, promotes its own growth, its own edification, in love.
B2 Second: Ephesians 4:7-16 WEL To every one of us is given the grace according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore, he says, "When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to people.” 9 Now, this "he ascended" implies that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth. 10 He who descended is the same one who also ascended far above all heavens that he might fulfill all. 11 He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 Until we all come into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God into a full, complete man, into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 So that we would no more be children tossed back and forth and carried off by every wind of doctrine by the cunning deception and sneaky craftiness of men lying in ambush so as to deceive. 15 Instead, speak the truth in love. We must grow up into Him in everything who is the Head, that is, Christ, 16 From whom the whole body is harmoniously joined together and united by every joint's contribution according to what is required for efficiency from each part. This causes growth of the body into building itself up in love.
A2 Outline
B1 God's Gifts
C1 Jesus Christ gives
D1 To each believer
D2 The amount He wishes
C2 Prophesied—Ephesians 4:8 WPNT That is why He says, “When He ascended into the heights He captured the concentration camp, and distributed gifts to men.
D1 Difference between our passage and Psalms is interpreted differently.
D2 “He captured the concentration camp” doesn't sound very much like “He led captivity captive” now does it. The point is that ‘captivity' refers to people held in captivity, and they are freed. When an invading army takes a concentration camp, the prisoners are set free (usually). We have here a quote from Psalm 68:18, where the second half says, “You have received gifts from men,” just the opposite of ‘distributed'. What to do? The Targum (a Hebrew commentary) interprets as, “You have given gifts to the children of men.” Upon reflection this would appear to be obvious. When you put tithes and offerings in the offering plate at church, you are giving to God, but does that money literally go to Heaven? No, it is redistributed down here—some goes to the preacher's salary, some to a missionary, some to pay the light bill, etc. God does indeed receive gifts from men, but He doesn't stash them in Heaven somewhere; they are redistributed down here. When done properly He gets the credit: “He distributed gifts to men.”  Wilbur Pickering New Testament Note on Ephesians 4:8.
D3  "...gave gifts unto men—in the Psalm, "received gifts for men," Hebrew, "among men," that is, "thou hast received gifts" to distribute among men. As a conqueror distributes in token of his triumph the spoils of foes as gifts among his people." JFB comment on Ephesians 4:8.
D4 The Lord Jesus is the conqueror who receives gifts to give them to the prisoners who have been freed. Similar to the Hebrews when they left Egypt. They had not been paid for their hard work for years, (Exodus 3:21-22 NKJV)  And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.
C3 Ascended/Descended
D1 Paul interprets the passage for us.
D2 To go up you have to go down first.
D3 The going down is into Hades (Paradise) (the interior parts of the earth). Some interpret this to refer to the incarnation or even the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
D4 The going up is the resurrection.
D5 The resurrection is an awesome victory over the devil and his demon followers, the Jewish leaders, and death itself.
D6 He ascends into heaven itself.
B2 Gifts
C1 These are spiritual gifts. There are three lists.
D1 Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV - And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
D2 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 NKJV  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:  2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.  3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.  4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
D3 Romans 12:1-8 NKJV  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.  4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;  7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
C2 The first list, Ephesians, are the offices, while the second are the abilities, and the third for encouragement to use them.
C3 The choosing for the offices, the abilities, and the amount are all the decision of the Holy Spirit.
C4 These are based on the love and wisdom of God.
C5 They are wholly of grace, not works. We deserve nothing.
C6 These gifts are to accomplish the mission that Jesus has for us.
C7 These are to
D1 Equip the saints for service
D2 Edify the saints
C8 When we are converted by God’s grace through our repentance, confession, and trusting into the Lord Jesus, we are just baby Christians. God expects us to grow. We grow by eating food; this food is the Bible. We need to study and live it. We need to be taught it and encouraged in the faith by the ministry. God’s goal is, Until we all come into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God into a full, complete man, into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. The purpose of this full, complete, mature Christian is, So that we would no more be children tossed back and forth and carried off by every wind of doctrine by the cunning deception and sneaky craftiness of men lying in ambush so as to deceive.
B3 We all need to be solid in the faith. Doctrine is important. A Christian life is imperative.
B4 There are many deceivers who want to lead us away from sound doctrine and living a Christian life.
B5 We must interpret the Bible in its plain, normal sense.
B6 We must speak the truth, not in anger, not in arrogance, not in any controlling, narcissist, psychopathic method, but in love. We care about people’s souls, not to win an argument.
B7 Every believer is to grow into the person God wants us to be, and the model of this faith is the Lord Jesus.
B8 We need each other. We are a family. I need you, and you need me. We need each other. It is a must. If you can do nothing else, you can pray.
B9 Be encouraged, be steadfast, be praying, be studying, be serving, be at peace. (Hebrews 13:20-25 WPNT) Now may the God of peace—who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep—  equip you for every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.  Now I appeal to you, brothers, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. Know that brother Timothy has been released, with whom I will see you, if he comes quickly.  Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. The Grace be with you all. Amen.
