Characteristics of the two kingdoms

Two Kings

Goals—Some goals for us

You’re right that God has no needs. The greatest Saint adds nothing to God’s perfection, and God would be no less great if there were nothing but Him.

However, God’s nature is love, and love seeks to be shared.

So, God created Man - a free moral agent who could choose to do good (and therefore, by necessity, could choose to do evil), and who could choose to love God (or not).

It’s not that the existence of Man is good for God - God doesn’t need us. But the existence of Man is good for Man.

It’s the same with prayer - God doesn’t need our prayers, but prayer and worship puts us in better “alignment” with His nature, and therefore with our own best nature, and so He demands it of us just like a parent demands that a child eat his vegetables (it’s not like the parent gets any benefit from the kid eating nutritious food, right?).

As to His reasons for creating other stuff (animals, angels, etc.), He’s the only one Who knows for sure, but it’s strongly implied that all Creation is “aimed at” Man - that is, that the universe in all its splendor has us as its goal. I’m talking theology here, not science, by the way - I have no desire in this particular thread to debate whether it is scientifically reasonable to believe this (I think it is, but it’s a discussion for another time and place).

D3 Even though many might have these qualifications, if the calling of God is present, the person will show pastor like desire and actions.

But 'who' is nonsensical (in the context), so most of them take evasive action: NEB and NASB have "he who"; Phillips has "the one"; NRSV, Jerusalem, TEV and NIV render "he". Berkley actually has "who"! In the Greek Text the relative pronoun has no antecedent, so it is a grammatical 'impossibility', besides being a stupidity—what is so mysterious about someone being manifested in flesh? All human beings have bodies. The pronoun can be accounted for as an easy transcriptional error, a simple copying mistake, so why not stay with the 98.5%? "God was manifested in flesh"—now there you have a mystery!

E1 Men teach, woman teach, parents teach, pastors teach. We teach each other.

E2 Thus, a dictator, someone with supreme authority who is not to be questioned but obeyed.

E3 That TYPE of woman must not teach.

Applications:

B1 Pray

B2 Pray for leaders and everyone else but especially for our Christian brothers and sisters.

B3 God wants all to be saved.

B4 Jesus is the ransom paid for all humans.

B5 Men are to pray and not argue and fight.

B6 Women are not to dress seductively.

B7 A dictator type woman must not teach.

Parable of the 10 Virgins

Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV - Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. "Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, "but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' "Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. "And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' "But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' "But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. 

The Jews are the virgins. 

Both groups revered the Torah. 

Both groups stated they love Yahweh. 

Both groups thought they were blameless. Paul stated, before he believed, that he was Philippians 3:6 NKJV - ...concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. [Emphasis is mine] 

One group believed. 

One group did not believe. 

One group was wise. 

One group was foolish. 

Finally, the day arrived. It was the threshold.  

Those who believed God entered the city. 

Those who did not believe God did not enter. 

Those who did not believe realized too late. 

The Scribes and Pharisees of Jesus’s day for the most part did not believe. 

They died. They realized they had made the wrong decision, regarding that Jesus, Yeshua, was Messiah. Now it was too late. 

Hebrews 9:27 NKJV - And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. 

Matthew 24:44 NKJV - Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. 

Matthew 25:13 NKJV - Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. 

Hebrews 3:16-4:2 NIV - Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. 

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT - As God's partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God's kindness and then ignore it. For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation.
